Practice Philosophy: Early Detection & Lifelong Education

Dr. Butt’s focus on early detection comes from a deeply personal experience. After losing her mother at a young age due to complications related to type 2 diabetes, Dr. Butt committed her career to finding systemic and eye diseases early, before they can cause lasting harm.

Coming from a family of educators, Dr. Butt believes patient education is a key part of quality care. Whether she is explaining how overall health can affect vision or guiding her team through advanced diagnostic procedures, her motto remains simple, "Do or die." It reflects her hard work, resilience, and strong commitment to her patients’ health.

Community & Beyond the Practice

Dr. Butt stays actively involved in her local community through school health fairs, sports sponsorships, vision screenings for underserved communities, and international optometry mission trips.

When she isn't caring for patients, Dr. Butt lives in Sugar Land with her husband and two sons. She enjoys weightlifting, scuba diving, including dives at the Great Barrier Reef and Roatán, and traveling across North America with her family. Together, they are working toward her sons’ goal of visiting every National Park as Junior Park Rangers.

Patient FAQs & Direct Advice

"Why shouldn't I just wait to see if my vision symptoms get worse?"

Dr. Butt: Certain symptoms require immediate medical evaluation rather than a 'wait-and-see' approach. If you experience new floaters, flashes of light, sudden vision changes, double vision, or eye infections (especially while wearing contact lenses), seek professional care immediately. Waiting on urgent signs can lead to permanent vision loss.
